It's December, which means it's time to get festive! πŸŽ„

Now that the evenings are cold and dark, it's time to stay inside, drink hot chocolate and do some festive arts and crafts! There are a number of ways to make your home more Christmassey and have fun in the process:

🍊 Dry some sliced oranges to make a garland...
🌲 ...or collect some pinecones to make one instead...
⭐ ...and create some lovely star decorations using twigs!

Crafting your own decorations is a great way to save money and have a more sustainable Christmas! πŸ’š

Deck the halls... and your gardens! πŸŽ„

As the days get colder, our garden and countryside birds can struggle to find enough food and fresh water naturally.

Making an edible Christmas wreath for your garden birds is a great way to provide them with much needed food for the winter months whilst simultaneously giving your garden a festive touch.

Keep your new wreath topped up over the winter months – a constant supply will bring a steady stream of visitors! 🐦

Hands up if you love autumn leaves! βœ‹πŸ‚

Autumn offers a final burst of colour before the onset of winter. The amazing leaf colour comes from three pigments (green, yellow and red) which help the trees obtain food. The advantage of dropping leaves is that trees can preserve the energy and water in their branches and trunk over the winter.

Celebrate the amazing colours of leaves, nuts, berries and catkins with a stylish leaf stack!

In nature, nothing is perfect and everything is perfect. Trees can be contorted, bent in weird ways, and they’re still beautiful. –Alice Walker
