Erasmus+ Natural Schooling project multiplier event

Go team Erasmus! An Erasmus + Natural Schooling project multiplier event has been held at the Eden Project. Delegates from across the country, as well as Sweden, celebrated the Natural Schooling project; a wonderful 3-year collaboration between partners from the UK, Sweden, Italy and Spain – funded by the EU. Attendees were welcomed by Erasmus+ Natural Schooling project lead (Deborah) and introduced the rationale and impact of adopting a Natural Schooling approach – learning in, about and through nature. Dan (project admin lead) who co-wrote the original bid for the project, told the project story. Ellie Baker – guest key speaker- explained the impact of natural schooling and being in nature on neuro-sequential development and emotional resilience. Project partners then presented their curriculum innovations, we then shared the selection of resources available fro the website (this one!) The findings and recommendations of the incredibly positive project evaluation were then shared. Hard copies of the project evaluation were available to view. All delegates were provided with hard copies of the project handbook. Copies of both can be downloaded from this website.
The afternoon provided a choice of 3 workshops, which included taking maths outdoors (led by Debbie Lambert) Art from nature (Tatjana Williams UK project partner) Space fun (Pauline Hannigan TLI) Mindfulness to bring the outside in (Ellie Baker) and Erasmus project admin (Dan Rogerson). The conclusion included learning about support available from this website. A great day – mutuality and shared values – and the potential for onward collaboration and networking.
